Lionheart Educational Trust

We were contacted by the Lionheart Educational Trust in Leicestershire, to look at putting together a scheme to upgrade all of their schools to energy efficient LED lighting along with the addition of PIR sensors in communal areas which would automatically turn lights on and off depending if the area was occupied. This would further increase the energy savings.

The aim of the project was to improve energy efficiency i.e. save the trust money on their running costs as well as to improve lighting levels throughout their buildings.

We started off by conducting surveys on all the schools within the trust to see the extent of existing LED lighting. Drawings were then made for each site detailing what fittings were required and where. This then allowed for the creation of a list of materials for each site which could then be further drilled down by block/ building, meaning that once the project started delivery could be made on a call off basis block by block making it easier for the electricians that were to carry out the installations.

We standardised on a range of fittings across the sites that will make life easier for the trust in the future as there is now uniformity across all sites meaning if they need to replace anything it will be easily identified.
