Car Park Lighting –

Burton Lazars Village Hall

We were contacted by the Village Hall committee at Burton Lazars as they wanted to improve the lighting that was currently in place. Over recent years they have changed the lighting, originally having a SON flood light on the gable end of the building but when this failed, they replaced it with an LED Floodlight.

It soon became apparent that this was not the right fitting for the job as the light spill was large and affecting nearby homes and it was also very glary especially as drivers entered the car park from the main road. We suggested using lighting columns would be best, but we were restricted to using a 4m high column and only being able to position them down one side of the car park. We carried out a site survey and following that completed a design. To achieve the best results, we used outreach arms on the columns to try and get the maximum amount of throw to illuminate across the car park.

The fittings were supplied with photocells and we also supplied a Sangamo NFC Astro Timeclock to achieve the most accurate control of the lights. Avanti Lighting supplied all materials for this job allowing the client just to sort labour and not worry about anything else.
